Fraser Valley HikingHikes in the Fraser Valley for all ages and stages Looking to get outside and enjoy B.C.’s breathtaking natural beauty this summer? The Fraser Valley is full of hiking trails for beginning, intermediate and experienced hikers. Here’s a few of our recommendations*:

Teapot Hill
Located next to Cultus Lake, Teapot Hill is an easy five-kilometre hike that’s open all year. It’s a short uphill hike that leads you to a beautiful view of the lake. Starting in the Teapot Hill parking lot, there are plenty of outhouses along the route. This hike is a great activity if you’re camping in the area.

Rolley Lake
This small lake, which is just northwest of Mission, has day and camping areas with picnic tables, a small beach area and a kids’ playground. It’s an easier hike that should take about two hours to complete. Dogs are more than welcome on this trail loop.

Sumas Mountain
Sumas Mountain is one of the more familiar mountains in the Fraser Valley. It runs on the north side of the Trans-Canada Highway between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. The Sumas Mountain stretch is a part of the Centennial trail, an intermediate hike that’s open from May to November. If you’re planning on tackling the Sumas stretch, it’s best that you plan to take a full day to do so; this hike is supposed to take close to six and a half hours to complete.

Harrison Grind
It’s the closest that the Fraser Valley comes to the Grouse Grind. This difficult hike goes up the side of a steep mountain and along the Campbell Lake trail. After six hours and an elevation gain of 620 metres, you’ll be ready to enjoy a great view of Harrison Lake at the top. It’s definitely a hike for very experienced hikers because the trail is quite steep and slippery.
