Nature at Your Doorstep: Keeping you healthy

Nature

Our brand-new Cedar Landing townhomes promise “nature at your doorstep.”  Green space is abundant in Aldergrove, a community well known for its farmland used to grow a variety of fresh produce.

While it provides a beautiful, restful setting for homes, did you know that green space is also beneficial to your health?

Spending time in nature helps humans thrive. More than just an all around way to “feel good,” research is beginning to show how being in nature provides a number of short- and long-term mental and physical health benefits for you and your kids.

In January 2014, a study published in Environmental Science & Technology emphasizes the importance of green spaces for improving our long-term well-being.

After observing five years’ worth of mental health data from participants, researchers found those who moved to urban areas with more green space showed higher overall mental health scores – meaning they had lower levels of anxiety and depression – than they had for the years prior to their relocation.

And, even better, the benefits lingered for a full three years after they moved. (Three years isn’t a magic number. That’s when the researchers stopped collecting data.)

It’s worth taking a look at your surroundings and seeing if you can find a home with a little more green space. Visit our Cedar Landing townhomes to get a feel for what it’s like to have nature at your doorstep.

(The show home is open on Tuesday  – Friday between 3pm and 6pm, or Saturday and Sunday, between 1 pm until 4 pm.)  Didnt find what you are looking for?  Click here for more homes.
