Keeping kids busy in Aldergrove (Part Two)

Living in a Cedar Landing townhome – with its generous fenced in backyards and tight-knit community – means it’s easy to keep tabs on your kids when they’re playing outside. But if you’re looking to get away from the house for the day, there are lots of things to do to keep busy in Aldergrove and they’re only minutes away from Cedar Landing.
Aldergrove Regional Park is another great outdoor space where you can enjoy the city’s natural beauty and burn off some energy. It boasts a picnic site with a small sandy play area, trails, and washrooms. A couple of highlights?
- The Rock ‘N Horse Trail, a trail for equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians.
- A large fenced-in off-leash area for dogs in the northeast corner of the park. You can get there by taking the trail from the Pepin Brook Loop.
- A designated hiking trail with a couple options for hike length that take you to the Aldergrove Bowl or loop back to the picnic area. For more detailed directions, check out the Vancouver Trails website
Need to run a couple errands and having a hard time getting your kids on board? Highstreet Shopping Centre is a quick jaunt down Fraser Highway (a six minute drive from Cedar Landing, according to Google Maps). Grab Pinkberry or a Cupcake while you pick up what you need. Then let your kids loose on the Highstreet playground!
Rumour has it that the Highstreet playground is the hottest place to be right now with the knee-to-hip-high elementary school crowd. Sometimes parenting requires a little bribery. And why not bribe the kids in your life with a trip to the playground? At least it gets them moving in the fresh air!
Give these kid-friendly destinations a test run and check out our Cedar Landing showroom while you’re in the neighbourhood.
