Buying the Perfect Christmas Tree

Choosing the perfect tree is an important Christmas task. Here are our best tips for buying the best Christmas tree:
1. Fake or real?
First things first, what kind of a tree are you looking for? Do you envision yourself bundling up and wandering through a farm, looking for your perfect tree? Or, do you want something that you can have set up and decorated from early November until mid-January? Do you mind vacuuming a few extra needles, or would you prefer to have something lower maintenance?
Take all of these questions into consideration. If you want to enjoy your tree for a longer period of time, it may be wiser to invest in an artificial tree. If you’d prefer to bundle up and make an experience out of it, you may want to consider a real Christmas tree.
2. Size up your space
It may seem like a no-brainer to measure your space before you look for a tree, but many “What do you think? Would it fit?” conversations happen at tree farms and store aisles. Make sure to measure your space before you have to pull a Clark Griswold and squish your tree into your living room. (Or end up with a flat-topped Christmas tree after you go a little too crazy with the saw.
3. Light it up
If you’re settled on an artificial tree, do you want one that’s pre-lit, or do you want to add your own strings of lights? Consider your options! Pre-lit trees can make the decorating process move more smoothly, but you can add as many colors and styles of lights if you choose your own strings.
While you’re out hunting for your perfect tree, don’t forget that the most important parts of the Christmas season are the people who you gather with around that tree and the memories that you’re about to make. Now that’s the best part of the season!
