This year there’s also a Game of Thrones exhibition and an internet cat video festival. Throw in some mini donuts, a visit to the PNE Prize Home and you’re set!

Visit the Food Cart Fest

Treat yourself to a meal at Food Cart Fest, happening every Saturday in Holland Park (Surrey) and every Sunday in Olympic Village (Vancouver). Admission is free if you’re a Vancity or Car2go member, or with a non-perishable food donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. These events also feature community markets, live music & DJs, craft food vendors, kids’ activities, ping pong, urban gardening and more.

Settle in for an afternoon at a beach (or lake)

Check out VanCity Buzz’s list of the best Vancouver beaches. While you’re there, go for a swim, rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Looking for something a little closer to home? There are lots of options in the Fraser Valley too! Cultus Lake, White Pines Beach, Harrison Hot Springs, Chilliwack Lake – to name a few.
