Nature at Your Doorstep: Keeping your kids healthy
As you know, our brand-new Cedar Landing townhomes promise “nature at your doorstep.” Green space is abundant in Aldergrove, a community well known for its farmland used to grow a variety of fresh produce.
While it provides a beautiful, restful setting for homes, did you know that green space is also beneficial to your kids’ health?
Spending time in nature helps your kids thrive. More than just an all around way to “feel good,” research is beginning to show how being in nature provides a number of short- and long-term mental and physical health benefits for your kids:
- Research has suggested children with ADHD have an easier time concentrating when they spend time outside.
- Living within close proximity to green spaces is associated with less depression, anxiety and other health problems – the relationship was shown to be strongest for kids under 12.
- Being outside has been shown to also improve symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognition, General Health, Nature Deficit Disorder, Obesity, Stress, Type II Diabetes, and more.
It’s hard to deny the immense benefits of having nature at your doorstep – especially for your family.
If you’re interested in finding a home with a little more green space, visit our Cedar Landing townhomes to get a feel for what it’s like to have nature at your doorstep. Our show home is open on Tuesday – Friday between 3pm and 6pm, or Saturday and Sunday, between 1 pm until 4 pm.
