Sprucing up your home for spring! Part I
Yes, there’s been plenty of snow in the Fraser Valley but we’re believing that the sunshine and warmer temperatures aren’t all that far away! With spring just around the corner, it’s a great time to scan your house and take care of a few tasks to spruce it up for spring!
Clean your gutters
During the fall and winter, your gutters get a good workout. Leaves and debris (couple with wind, snow and rain) plug up your gutter and could, over time, create serious issues for your home. Throw on a great rain jacket and heavy-duty gloves, and dig out the sludge to ensure all the BC rain can drain away from your home properly.
Check for leaks
Wet weather is a great time to figure out where your house is leaking water and heat. Because these leaks can wreak havoc on your bills, it’s worth sealing them up in order to save energy (and a little cash!) Keep an eye on your windows sills and around doorframes. You can easily patch up leaks with materials from your local home improvement store.
Wash your siding
Mold and mildew can build up on your home’s siding during the colder months. Invest in (or borrow) a great pressure washer to clean gunk of your house and prepare your porch for warm spring evenings. While you’re at it, you might as well clean off your outdoor furniture too.
Prep your garden
After a couple of months of neglect, it’s a great time to weed and prepare your garden for spring. Mow your lawn. Pressure-wash your sidewalks and walkways. Get your outdoor spaces ready for warmer months!
