Want To Sell This Spring? Three Tips To Get Your House Ready To Sell
If you haven’t noticed already, the real estate market is kicking into high gear as more and more homes and properties are being put on the market. It’s promising to be a busy Abbotsford real estate season as the spring and summer months come.
Considering putting your home up for sale? Now’s the time to do it! Before you contact a realtor and get the process started, it’s worthwhile to take a look around and make sure everything is in great shape in order to set yourself up for the smoothest possible sale.
Not sure where to start? Here are three easy things you can do right now to get your house ready to sell in spring:
- Slap on a fresh coat of paint: Patching and painting your main living spaces, including kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms, makes your house look fresh and clean. Pick neutral colours that will likely appeal to a broader group of potential buyers so they can better imagine themselves (and their stuff) in your house.
- Get on your rubber gloves (or hire someone else to): Getting into all the nooks and crannies of your home and giving them a thorough deep clean will make it easier to get your place ready for any last-minute showings. Cleaning well also ensures you will have impeccable house photographs to post online, which is the first step to attracting interested buyers.
- Tidy up and toss out stuff you no longer need or want: Trimming your belongings makes it easier to keep your house clean for showings and will make it faster to pack everything up when you’ve sold and you need to move. Hold a garage sale to make some extra cash or donate your gently used goods to a local charity you’re willing to support.
